Dhuies biting

Awesome day today out of Mindarie, conditions were magic.

mate pulled a horse of a Dhuie up only to have the hook pull about 5 m from the boat.

Spewing about that but managed a couple of smaller models soon after, a decent pinky, big flathead ,baldchin and a good red throat.

Then pulled another Dhu about 8kg which went back down, thought would call it a day at that and left them biting.

back in by lunchtime.

It wasn't landed, my mate is from up north and has never fished for Dhuies in his life, was using some crap pre-made wire rig with 2 spoon sinkers above it. I'm fishing away and he is whinging that he is snagged.i keep doing my own thing but notice after a few minutes that he is slowly bringing the snag up, I Question what is happening and he reckons not a fish it's like pulling an anchor up.anyway, I am getting an idea what might be happening and sure enough see an absolute log of a Dhu come into sight , followed by the siight of it kicking free and making a slow decent back down, unbelievable.
