Do tailor eat other tailor?

I was thinking back to salmon season and I remembered that I caught a tailor as a bycatch while throwing lures over a reef looking for salmon stragglers. I was using a McCarthy 6 inch paddletail in the white pearl colour which I would imagine looks identical to a juvenile tailor? i know that trout will eat other trout but do tailor eat other tailor?

thanks,

Lachie

However, I think its illegal to use undersize fish as bait (dead or live), unless you use a 25cm+ tailor as bait...

When I get a tailor off the beach and the bites are fast, it gets immediately strip baited and turned into a couple more tailor. Nothing gets wasted in the food chain. I doubt a tailor could tell the difference nor care because it's eat or be eaten.

What does a 6" pearl coloured plastic look like to you?

Probably would to a frenzied tailor....

Cheers

I was being harassed by tailor once.

At Port Gregory in Nobbies' Hole, fishing for mulloway. Tailor were too quick. So i filleted a tailor, chucked it in as bait, tailor stopped and started exclusively catching mulloway. YMMV.
