Wow just randomly looked at the donations and noticed that it has become few and far between.
Realy enjoy this site with all its "Popcorn" moments and banter.
Why so few help Im not sure but everything that can assist the site has to be a good thing.
Plus you get a little Black fish on your Avatar!!

Be good to see everyone
Be good to see everyone donate 5 or 10 bucks, less than a bag of bait considering the info and knoweledge sharing you can get from this site that's a very cheap investment.

Isn't this site commercially
Isn't this site commercially viable on its own? I don't send donations to tv stations which I enjoy, I just put up with the adverts.
That analogy doesn't take into account that all of the content is provided to the site owner free of charge by the users either. Not that I don't appreciate that forum admin takes up a reasonable amount of time and a small amount of money, or that some do it better than others, but I'm sure that the site sponsors and advertisers cover the costs and I would assume makes some profit.

err commercially viable?
Adam isnt running this for a profit. When a server dies or needs upgrading because people want to store gigs of images in there gallery this is where the site sponsors come into it plus the hosting. Pretty sure if it was for profit it would have been shut down years ago.

I agree kmo. I have a friend
I agree kmo. I have a friend who runs a forum of a similar size to this one and he actually makes enough money from the advertising on it that it is now his only source of income!! He currently is living the dream life of travelling around Australia with all expenses paid by the income from the advertising on his forum.

Yup
Everything is appreciated guys when it comes to keeping the site running, it's not cheap when your IT guy is $120 p.h and when you have a server which needs to handle 45 gig of database and a shipload of traffic each day. I only wish I could make this site my only source of income, I must need some tips from your mate Poltergeist!!
If anyone wants to donate and doesn't have paypal, please contact me at:
I do have some FW merchandise still available, I have slowed a bit on that since having my business name 'borrowed'. Let me know what you want on the email above and I will see if I have what you want.

Tried but can't
Tried a few times to donate but end up in a circular paypal loop asking me to re-enter my paypal details. Outside of the link I have no issues accessing or purchasing through paypal.
The donation page does link to a "sandbox.paypal" link, not sure thats got anything to do with it??

Adam I think his advertising
Adam I think his advertising is with Google so he makes money everytime someone clicks on an add (adds are continually changing) where as this site just has a few sponsors advertising. Pretty sure he said he was making about $1800 a month, not enough to raise kids and pay a mortage but not too bad if your just cruising and camping around the country.
