G"Day All,
A mate of mine had his dad pass away last year and he was left a Cruise Craft with a 130hp E-Tec.Last month he was trying to winterize the thing and couldnt get the lid off the motor. The clips had stuck or something like that.Has anyone had the same kind of drama with these engines. He put it in the to hard basket until we could get more info, its sat idle for 4 mths and wouldnt think that the lid has come of for quite some time.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Willo

It shouldn't be hard at all,
It shouldn't be hard at all, it did take a little while to work it out though. There are 3 clips that hold the cowling on, one on each side and one at the back. As Starbug says, pop the clips out and then push them down. All will then be good. Hope this is clear, and good luck.

You don't need to take the cowling off
Read the motor instructions you would find that your warm up lever is used for winterising the motor

Etec owners group
This site has all the info you will ever need on etecs and you can print out winterization manual.
There are two types of people ,do'ers and watchers
Right now the do'ers are the doing it
And the watchers are watching us do it
