Eating Crabs from the Swan River

Hey All

I just wanted to get everyones thoughts on eating crabs caught in the Swan River.

I know that it is not recomended to eat shellfish from the river and was wondering if there was any reason to not eat crabs from the river to the pollutants that may be hanging around.

I always see heaps of people out there crabbing and see plenty of huge crabs being caught so I assume that there is no risk but I thought I would check just in case.

Thanks.

Been eating them since I was a kid, never affected me. My kids love them too, and they all have 3 eyes, so they would be able to see any issues.

You should all stop catching

Tue, 2017-01-31 07:24

You should all stop catching and eating crabs out of the river immediatley. There's far too many rumours of ill effects being sufferred for anyone to put themselves at risk. I will risk my own safety and continue crabbing and eating them freshly cooked in bread or in crab linguine or however else I choose to do so and report back to you all in a few years time. We'll know then if it is safe for you to commence crabbing.
