Edit - a bouquet for rottnest island authority!

Please read my comments at the end as i have edited my original post!

Used my boat in Feb this year as a support boat for a solo swimmer in the rottnest channel swim (he was the one that proposed to his girlfriend at the finish line).... we booked and paid for a camp site overnight.  $11 per person for an unpowered site.  No problem with that.  New camp kitchen, new ablutions, they tell us.  Great.  Set up camp.  Only cold showers :/.....  camp kitchen has four new gas bbqs.  Two not working and the other two not cleaned for days....

Hmm.... provided the authority some feed back on that one...

Doing it again this summer.  So wifey goes online today to book a campsite....

Get this!

New price....

$35 per person per night!

Three times what it was in February.

Justify that RTA?

Clarification (the edit) - The authority's poorly designed website gives the indication that the coSt is $35 per person where in fact the cost is $35 per site (max 6 people / 2 tents).  Last year was $11 per person, so it is in fact a REDUCTION in price.  Well done RTA.  Now fix up your webpage!

We haven't gone through the booking process yet.  But if extra people don't get a cheaper rate, and there is no indication they do, a six person unpowered camp site will cost $210 for 6 people....  a six person cabin is $150 a night?  Explain that?

easy randall ... they don't want campers,

probably find % wise they get more issues with campers than any other style of accommodation , ?

not agreeing with them , just think that is possibly there logic to dissuade the campers, with higher fees ?

On my boat at bathurst beach pens. 100 bucks for two nights, No ablutions in the area, you can only use pens 1 to 12 as the rest have beached themselves and you would be high and dry in the morning. They do no mainainence over there and it is a ripoff. all the free moorings out front of the pub were out of service. So i paid 30 odd bucks a night for the pen them the landing fee so it was a hundred didnt feel so bad as the couple next to me booked a villa for a week next year for same week during  the school holidays 2.5k
