Epic midwest tailor Sesh
LLoyd aka twitchemup,Heard i was in Dongara for the weekend and was keen for a fish. The plan was hatched,To see if we could get into any greenbacks at my tailor spots.I was not to confident as the previous morning was very quiet with only mackies teasing me jumping 200m out (only day i didnt have ballooning gear on me....lol!)and a couple of small fish around 400mm.Anyway i told him not to expect much.Meet up at 6am too overcast weather and a strong S/E wind,I was feeling a lot more confident as this is prime conditons in my experience.Anyway a quick 4wd into my first spot and a fruitless 1hr of casting every likely looking area resulted in nothing,Hmm i thought probably to calm.Time to try another spot
Arrive at the other spot not expecting much but one look of the water i know there has to be fish...What resulted turned out to be an epic session,Starting on poppers we had fish smashing them even pretty much out our feet. Then we went to stickbaits for pretty much a fish cast for quiet a while.Fish size were from 50cm-66cm with the 66 cm fish being probably the fattest i have ever seen and defiantly well over 3kg.Hooked a few monsters aswell with trebles absolutly destroyed and me losing my Bullchop to a solid fish.Must have caught well over 20 fish.My pics didnt turn out but here are a couple of pics of llyods with a few of his fish
A very memorable session and glad i could take Lloyd out of his comfort zone and get him into some fish,i get the feeling he will be doing more of this now..The surface strikes are just that addictive

Thanks..
A huge thank you to Nelly for taking me along it was an epic session no doubt about it, it went off those monster Tailor smashing Poppers, Plugs and stickbaits was awesome to witness and the size of Tailor destroying trebles was just crazy!!
I was pretty stoked to get my PB Tailor on lure to 56cm on a Maria Blues Code..
And the 66cm fish that Nelly nailed on Maria Bullchop was as thick a Tailor as I've seen absolute stonker easy 3.5kg, so good to release the big fellas too...
Spewing that your pics didn't work Neil I thought I was getting the photo's mate not sure what happened there???? Looks you will have to come up next weekend and bag another PB on lure...
I'll be definately doing a bit more surface fishing for Tailor from now on since Nelly has shown me a few things I had forgotten since my younger days I'm keen to get back into it..
Thanks again Neil look forward to next time..
Cheers Lloyd

Nice
Nice work fellas, there doesn't seem to be many fish that can escape Lloyd. I think we will need to put you on a handicap system at next years FW comp mate!
