mmm
i havent been there for ages.. but waht i can remember is this
there ia jetty there almost aslong as the busso jetty with roughly the same fish (squid, herring, bonito, whiting, skippy) and also sometimes there are some big sambos at the end. if u go to some of the beaches(ask at the tackle shop there) then there should be a few salmon around. so basiccly just take any rod u want there is something for every type of rod there is =D. also at certain times i remeber there used to be a massive school of barracuta that stay there near the jetty. good luck and hope this helps

I'm an ex-local mate, in esperance at the moment on holidays are you guys bringing a 4wd??
I can tell you heaps of good spots but most of the best beach fishing is 4wd access only. Theres miles and miles of great beaches to explore. Just remember to let your tyres down and stay up high as sometimes the best beaches are the boggiest!!
Off the beach you catch herring, skippy, flathead, . salmon....all year round.....mulloway, big tailor at selected beaches, gummy sharks and bronzies.....and if you head out east at the right time pink snapper too!!
In town, try the jetty for squid, herring and snook.
If you are limited to 2wd only try Salmon beach and Fourth beach for salmon and herring.
With the gear, bring usual 12ft beach combos and also small spin setups for the jetty and rocks.
PM me for 4wd spots if you like.
Good luck.
