Esperance, if its red its dead.

Another great day here in Esperance on the jigs and plastics for Bear, Striker and myself.
Another esky full of reds, biggest going 620mm to striker, and with some big Black arse at 550mm. Bear taking the honours.
Added in the bag was another blue grouper for myself, some fox fish and on the last drop of the day a surprise just sized dhuie.
This place when the weathers good is brilliant for jigging and plastics.
Will certainly coming back.

Hi Big John
i moved to Esperance bout 3 months ago so with work and the weather I've only been out three times and today with Holth and Bear was the third. Lots of empty ground down here but look for the rises and keep a very eagle eye out for the waves that stand up as they hit the ground that rises up out of the deep water and can roll out of nowhere .

Nice work, its not that easy
Nice work, its not that easy coming to town and getting onto some good fish. How does the Barcrusher handle the SE wind and swell coming back in? I pick my 560C up in a couple of weeks.

Hi Woody, yeh been doing
a lot of beach fishing with the wind being up for not a lot of results so was great to get out and get amoungst the fish , was starting to think there's no fish in Esperance !
The barcrusher handled the s/easterly that came up the other day without any issues at all, trimmed the motor and didn't try to break any speed records coming back in averaging bout 17 knots.Have also quickly learned that when the wind starts up , head for home .
I reckon you'll love your new toy when it's delivered, what electronics will you be running?
As stated above only new to town so always happy to go out with another boat for safety, just pm me anytime .

That's good to hear, can get
That's good to hear, can get pretty gnarly coming back in sometimes. Good old Espy - get out real early and back in early before it blows.
I'll be setting mine up for beach launching as well and hitting spots out from Lucky, Fannys etc. Its only got a HDS7 combo at the moment, plan is to keep that as a GPS and get a dedicated sounder. Hopefully a Furuno 588 or similar.

The furuno
588 is the go , though nothing wrong with a 587 or even a 585 mine is hooked up to the tm 260, get that mounted correctly and with some practice with the settings it reads a dream even in super deep water.
I'll also be looking into an extension bar who would you get to set that up? Iwould love to launch out at Alexander or even poison in the right conditions , fish out there would never have seen a jig!

Can only buy 588 now, as 587
Can only buy 588 now, as 587 and 585 are superseded?
Yep I've got mates who fish A bay and Poison and its awesome. We've been out from A bay couple of years ago past twin peaks and bagged out with 4 on board, back on shore before lunch.
I'll be going for dropdown wheel and drawbar. Most boat trailer mobs make both as an option and its all bolt on with U bolts. Even Martins Trailers parts sell all the bits.
Heaps of examples on the net, so I'll probably just make up my own.
