Exmouth deepdrop
Submitted by reece on Mon, 2014-08-04 22:09
Had a epic week in exmouth last week! Perfect weather an fish every where as usual.
Big thanks to the lads at Ocean Side for my new Relax outriggers and to Rhys from PGFC for helping rig them up! Landed my first marlin with in half an hour of putting the lures out then found the best ruby spot Iv ever seen!
Every drop was a double header of 15-20kg fish with in seconds of Hitting the bottom! Only lost one fish to the tax man all week.
Had a prospect drif on a spot we sounded up an locked on big time! We wer thinking monster ruby or cod but turned out to be a thrasher shark! Rear as rocking horse shit.. It tail wrapped and busted us off just after the pic.

Man that rubes are epic. Filled the freezer in a single drop!!
Just out of interest, having never chewed on a Ruby, how do they compare to other 5 star fish??

Thanks lads! It's taken me years to consistantly hit the big ones!
Id have to say ruby is in my top 5 eating fish! The fillets arnt overly white but when it's cooked it's pure white and really hard to stuff up unless over cooked.
We got the reds, Scarlett's and jack on a well head north of Long Island. Alwayse seems to hold a jack or 2

awesome work mate - clearly got them sussed
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
