Exmouth GT on jig
Submitted by GGs on Sat, 2015-05-02 21:03
Got this GT today jigging in 55m off tantas on PE4 gear. Hit the jig and missed the hooks then came back for a second go. Thought it was a shark based on the blistering runs with big tail pumps. Sadly it got nailed by the tax man and after many atempts to swim the fish back to health it gave up and died. Filleted it up and to my surprise it tasted OK when pan fried. Not a bad fish for my first GT.
Went 25.14kg (missing its ass) and 127cm to the tip! Not something ill forget in a hurry!

Cheers guys.
I saw in another thread that GTs with a fork length of 108-110cm generally weight ~30kg. This went 116cm to the fork and came in at 25.14kg on a good set of digital scales. Does anyone with experience in catching GTs think this fish could have gone 30kg's if it wasnt missing a chunk? It was a fairly girthy fish.

It is Federal and State
It is Federal and State Budget Time!!... Nothing escapes the taxman! I would say that's a 20% tax!
