Exmouth inner reffs

Heading to Exy in 2 weeks with the boat, 475 Quinny. I was thinking of targeting the inner reefs around Tantabiddi from South passage to north of north passage. Havent had the boat in there before and was wondering about the navagability and passages around the area. Have a large laminated chart of the area and lowrance gps with gold card but would love to hear from experienced blokes who have been in this area before as it looks pertty shallow and gnarly. Cant beat experience and as I will have the missus on board my life wouldnt be worth living if I bumped into something !!

There is only one reef but
There is only one reef but inside it is lots of coral bombies and such. Driving during the day just weave around them. You probably wont get right out near the reef from the inside unless you get a really high tide. Fishing out there can be good though.
You would be better off looking at the charts a bit and fishing near the bombies that have big deep sandy holes next to them. And dont discount fishing some of the shallower sand flat areas especially the ones that have a bit of rubble around.
Make sure you pre plot in all the sanctuary zones too as you arent allowed to fish in them and they are fairly actively policed- both by fisheries and by locals.
Fish for thrills....

No Worries..
I'm not particularly experienced but I've hired a tinny to fish inside the reef a few times up there. You'll be fine with a good GPS, just keep the speed down and your eyes open for the bommies. The fishing isn't always easy though, Id definitely be taking some bait & berely to fall back on if the artificials aren't firing. If it's really difficult just anchor up near a big bommie and start a berley trail, you'll soon have plenty of company. Enjoy it, I'm jealous!
