Exmouth jigging

 Hi Guys,

Im heading up to Exmouth at the end of April, will be there just after easter and im hiring a boat to head out into the deap to try my hand at some jigging and just some general fishing. Maybe some trolling with a few xraps and conas for a saily if he's there.

Does anyone have any tips for me on where to go try my luck?

I have done jigging and big game fishing back in SA a lot so i kind of know the drill i just have no idea where to go up there. Will be launching from the Tantabiddi Jetty i think and the other one up there not the Exmouth Marina.

Any tips would be much appreciated :)

Hi mate, Happy to help

Was there any particular species you wish to target? When you say deep do you mean 100m and less or are you wanting to fish deeper targeting species like Ruby snapper and Grey band?

Cheers

Hi,

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but I am pretty much doing the same thing late May in Exmouth. We are there for a week and, weather permitting, we are looking at doing some deep sea jigging and are open to getting out to over 100m depths. I was wondering, what can we expect to encounter around the deeper ground?, What weighted jigs would be best?  and what ground do we look for?

edit: yes I am a beginner when it comes to deep sea fishing.

Cheers
