Fads

Hey guys. I'm hoping to take advantage of the online sales at the moment to gear up for a few trips to the fads this summer. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for casting and trolling lures, as well as size and colours that might be worth picking up?
any advice greatly appreciated!
cheers!

I've had a lot of success on dollies with pink skirted lures. Mine have been small Richters or Williamson lures. We had one day where we had something like 14 hits and 12 of those were on pink lures or ones with a lot of pink. Watched a bunch of fish swim straight past every other lure in the spread to get to the pink one on the far side! My guess is soft plastics in pink colours would also do well.

I haven't tried soft
I haven't tried soft plastics as the skipper I go with likes trolling for marlin and we pick up dollies when we troll past the FADs. I'd like to stop and throw lures but not my boat!

Nomad/Dollies
Hey mate, Had heaps ov success recently on the halco slidogs, used all sizes but reccomend the 105 heavy for general/distance work, and the larger 150 size to pick out the bigger fish in the school. - also the 85mm size is great on lighter gear when they are fussy, but all sizes will catch fish. Also the nomad riptides and madscads, especially the 105/125/155 sizes with 105 for distance work, and 125 general, and 155 is a good alrounder for the bigger fish.
+ of the nomads is ready to fish terminals, but the halco's are still good and heaps cheaper.
Live herring/yakkas and even gardies/whiting/barely size tailor and skippy are great baits.
Cheers, (and if all else fails - unweighted half mulie on 20lb fluoro is unstoppable (make sure to start a berly trail))

The mutton birds are a nightmare most of the time and I don't use dead baits because of that. If you've ever had to untangle an angry mutton bird you would understand!
