Fiddler Ray

Caught a Fiddler Ray last night at a local Jetty
any one eaten one ?
We kept our's to try, flesh looks good NO smell like a ray
O Yer, 1 pink snapper by a friend was released as it was only a baby one, couple of Yellow Tail and a Gobbleguts by Jasmine

yeah I agree (everybody says
yeah I agree (everybody says the taste like crap) but having never eaten one couldn't say for sure.

Well I can say this much, it tasted quiet good, nice fish taste when eating it with out chilli sauce.
We deep fried them like fish fingers

We kept the tail part as I thought it would be the best part.
We cut the flesh up into finger pieces ready for batter dipping
Home made chilli batter
The end result, deep fried fiddler fingers
allways like to try just one of any species I catch, thats if its safe too do so

with the leftover carcase you can chop it up and use it as fertiliser in the garden , just remember to dig it in so the neighborhood cats dont get it

never tried em but i always catch tiny ones and for the amount of meat u get i myself wudnt bother(thats what i meant)
wouldnt have a clue on the taste
but if u say its good
take your word for it

good on ya karl, looked nice cooked up, used to try it years ago and pretty good eating, if the hooks get swallowed and its bleeding, not a bad fish to eat, pretty much a shark taste but not as strong from memory

Milk and lemon
I caught one off the Beach at Dalyellup in 2013. Marinated in milk and lemon for a couple of hours and grilled on the BBQ it was great.
