Finals footy is finally here.

So who's going to win this weekend? I reckon the Eagles will get over the Roos and I think the Dorkers can do the Cats they are playing  a good brand of footy at the moment and are hungry. Swans over the crows and what can the Pies come up with against the rampant Hawks? I'll toss acoin on that one cause it's a different ball game finals footy. Should all be good games.

Funny things happen in finals though, as a pies supporter I know that only too well.

us (Hawks) losing to the Pies but I am concered about the loss of Guerra. He's critical to our backline and will take some serious reorganisation to do well without him.

Eagles should win, Geelong should smash Freo without Mcpharlin but i'm not sure about Crows/Swans? Toss a coin over that one.

If we loose to the pies I will cut my dick off with a blunt rusty hacksaw and send it to marilyn manson so he can sew it to his forehead....Gils and Murph are two quality defenders that could be selected, Hodgey can play back, even Roughy does well behind the ball, poor goo tho. Weve beatn everyone bar the cats so Im quietly hopin for someone else to rubem out. Good to see junior back too

Mmmmm...dunno about the penis

Mon, 2012-09-03 16:13

Mmmmm...dunno about the penis sawing thing...bit drastic I think....but i'd be disappointed if the Hawks drop it. They match up well on the Pies...Buddy likes to eat them for a snack but the Pies outfit are experienced finals campaigners so it's not going to be easy. Dunno what's happened with Gilham, just can't get a gig right now. Shoey has been fantastic this year. Don't wan't to see Ellis back..think he is done and dusted but if you were going like for like in terms of replacing Goo, I'd go for Cheyney. Doesn't look much of a player but is pretty handy down back.

Brave predictions mate

Mon, 2012-09-03 15:13

Hawks could get done by the Pies but it could go either way. Hawks on form but not by such a big margin.

Cats should handle the Dockers but 56 points is a lot.

I agree with you that eagles will sort out the Roos.

Sydney are serial pests in finals but on form, I have to agree with you.

Mon, 2012-09-03 17:30

Christ Bodie as Vince said some big margins there. I think the results will be a lot closer due to the fact that they are all hungry teams at the moment. I actually reckon the only blowout game will be the Eagles v Roos match not cause I'm one eyed but i think the home ground adavntage will be huge this weekend. It's on Bloody Sunday though so I can't drink as I'm offshore crack of Dawn Monday Shite!

Think the hawks will get the jump on the pies early, and run away in the last.

Geelong are going to smack the dockers.

The closest game will be Sydney - Adelaide. Main reason chosing the crows is Sydney have lost their last 2. a little bit of reality and pressure.

Whole comp this year

Mon, 2012-09-03 15:54

Has been as tight as a fishes ass, and thats waterproof. Agree with most above, but all can go the other way.

I dont end up in Freo vs Eagles arguements because unless derby day its my favourite 2 teams. Eagles first purely because as an X state Rugby player taught some of the might Swan Districts in the mid 80s tackling, and became mates with the Narkle boys, played touch rugby with them, so when the Eagles started Followed the Eagles because of Phil.

Stayed loyal as you should, but Freo definite number 2. I think they can do the cats because they are on an upswing, and in modern sport confidence and belief is crucial. Hope I am right. I think off the bottom 4 the eagles are the best, but they have shown some up and down form, and wont Kill the roos.

Hawks, Dockers, Eagles and "the winner is Syddeny!!"

I am with you cransy1 alot of people writing off freo.  If they can play that game plan for 4 quaters like they have been building too all year and played the last 4 weeks then it will be a very tight game.  Macpharlap is a big blow but cats look to have lost Johnson which will hurt

So you are saying Freo would be red hot favourites against a team that has a proven advantage against them at home in recent times? Not to mention respect for the ladder position. Don't use the Cats as your excuse to exit the finals in Melb. Anything can happen this weekend and it doesn't involve a clash with Freo and the Eagles. One or both may be taking and early break.

Mon, 2012-09-03 20:01

My point earlier was directed toward the comment that an Eagles vs Dockers final at home was a threat. The rest of my banter was aimed at what is real and what may happen. Truth is that Eagles play the Roos at home and the Dockers play Geeelong away at the MCG. If both WA teams win then let's bring it on mate. Poor old Tim-o is going to be without child if the Hawks go down.

Etihad and MacPharlin in.. would be Freo by a couple.

WC should do NM in a close one as NM can improve on recent form.

I hope Pies flog the hawks just because it will shut tim-o up for a while.

Don't you guys pay attention?

Griff is only out because the forecast is for wet conditions, and smaller players do better in the wet - so they say...

That is why Griff is out - and Kep is a bit more versatile than Griff...in the wet...

Freo to win by 15... :)

WC should do NM by 30

Crows, just, over Sydney

Hawks/Magpies... feathers will fly... Magpies make more noise than hawks... but I think the bird of prey will clean up the warblers...

I hoping the crows win over sydney (being a crows supporter) it should be a tight game -  Beat them in Sydney earlier in the year but admit goodes doing his hammy helped.  Game is almost sold out and the home crowd should help!

Would otherwise be picking WC, Hawks and Cats

Cheers

**Fark just noticed that Lewis has pulled out. Savage to replace. Gonna make it interesting now without him and Goo.

Fri, 2012-09-07 20:39

No Goo, no Lewis, no Young, no White X....no worries. Well, Shoenmakers though a bit of a worry though, playing Cloke into some decent form.

Always a pleasure to see Joffa with a big grumpy frown on that dial of his.

Too good

Fri, 2012-09-07 20:47

Too good for us tonight. Hawks were crisp where we butchered it, often when we had a clean spot up.

Good game by Cloke, good effort by Jolls and Krak.

Have to reload for next week now.

Yes, it was a tough game in tough conditions.

Fri, 2012-09-07 21:33

Hopefully the Eagles will come through and test your guys real potential for this year. I think the Kangas will struggle here this weekend but nothing is certain.

Played the man and it

Sat, 2012-09-08 07:38

Played the man and it backfired. Good to see that Buddy didn't get sucked in. Would have been a fair chance he would've retaliated at an earlier stage of his career. Reckon he had the better of Taz in the end...4.3 and three goal assists.

How good was Birchalls bump on Shaw?

Yeh Buddy on Swan was good

Sat, 2012-09-08 08:06

Yeh Buddy on Swan was good too. So many awesome moments, Pies had their backs to the wall before the first bounce and employed an oldschool tactic, not much in the bank for them. Bucks, Maxwell, Taz, Shaw all finished face down in the dirt. Too many winners, bloody good to watch, tackle pressure, ball use, many attacking avenues, all with key players out. In the box seat now, CARN HAWKS!

So you reckon Shaw shirked the issue in the bump smasha? At least be a little objective, good contest from both boys in that exchange.

Too good for too long last night. Mitchell always cuts us up (even more so when Ball is out).

Errr, no I didn't say that. I was just impressed with Birchall throwing his body around. Never noticed him been so physical before.

It was a good effort for Shaw to get going straight after though he was on the bench shortly after looking a little shot.

Gibson all Australian form, he holds that back line together.  Quality team, going to be hard to beat this season.

put up with the hawks for years to come.

Just like we did with bloody geelong.

I just hope that wanker franklands neck gets a kink in it and stuffs him up.

Could happen as he cant stop watching himself on the big screen. What a tosser.

Sat, 2012-09-08 16:04

Not sure where the brain is sometimes when I read some of this. Is it just me or am I misenterpeting some comments as being idiotic?
