First boat trip out from hedland
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Sat, 2022-03-26 16:33
Was planning on hitting the water around 6 but as usual plans change. Not knowing anything about out here I was told to try marker number 24 . Ended up with 2 trout , one at 350 the other 400 so they went back strong. And of course I managed one of my usual catches , a shark.
The ramp is a bit on the steep side but pulled the boat out no probs

Nice. Where the small ones
Nice. Where the small ones are there should be bigger ones. Some of the spots that have had a bit of pressure the trout can be tricky . Drop livebaits, tends to work well.

live baits
My brother was recently explaining how they get trout. They drift to the poles then when in range cast to the pole and one keeps the boat in position and the other fishes till they get one then switch rolls. Some huge trout and other stuff.I think they use mullet but sand whiting would go real good
just do it.

Marker 24
Hey Mate
Marker 24 is a pretty common spot up there, but if you go to marker 24 and sound south there are a few nice rocks that pop up in that area. We got trout and reds in plenty of numbers. If you anchor up and burley near one of those rocks you will get them, its only about 13m from memory
Cheers
