First Marlin

Santa came early yesterday and delivered a nice 204kg Blue Marlin on 24kg stand up. It took just over an hour to boat, the unfortunate thing was that it was hooked through the eye & bleeding a fair bit, so needless to say the locals are having smoked marlin for xmas dinner.

What an amazing place to fish, as i was fighting this fish, you look up and you see land about 5nm away, just mind blowing. To catch something like this back in oz you have to travel 30 odd mile offshore. I was hoping for marlin black or stripped, but when I asked the skipper if they get blacks out here he told me that we were too far out.
