First Time for Everything

I have finally got my first size pinkie after years of trying, and it was a bit of a suprise! Headed out from Mindarie at gentlemens hours (08.00) on Monday...missed the early crowd and eased out into the fog with my brother and his wife on board. My darl decided to sleep in! The plan was a troll up and down the place to see if any macks wanted to play....no luck with that after an hour or so.... so it was motor off and a very slow drift roughly south just outside the 3 mile.
15 minutes and half a dozen wrasse later....this guy decided to join the party - 77 cm to the fork, and 7.8 kg on my bathroom scales. Happy fishers!

Great fish there mate, all the effort finally payed off. Can feel your pain though, havnt caught a decent fish in Perth since returning from the anual Exy pilgramidge in November last year despite countless hours of trolling and bottom bouncing with evey thing I can think off to tempt the fish. Thats fishing I spose but very frustrating.

nice fish matewe were in
nice fish mate
we were in amoungst the early contendors at 6.30am pushing our way through the fog
did pretty much the same with a mix of trolling and drifting outside of the 3 with nothing worth mentioning
skipper did hook up to something of notible size but was on basically a bream rod!
we followed it around hoping it would tire out but not luck and the hook finally gave way
came across some big bait balls off hale rd but nothing around hassling them.
still interesting day with the pea soup conditions!
