Down South

Fri, 2005-10-07 10:41

Don't know too much about the area around Albany, except they get huge KG in the sound, but don't really know where..  I know a few spots out around denmark for rock fishing and in the inlet for snapper, KG, black bream, mussels etc.. But most of our fishing is out from Peaceful Bay, Walpole, Irwin Inlet.. Which is probably a bit far to travel from Albany for a feed of fish..

Check out the latest Fishing West Australia magazine.. It has a full feature on Albany and the surrounding areas.. Well worth a read..

If you have a tinny and like bream fishing, give the Hay river a shot, just out of Denmark.. Is gold, i tell you now..

i know there is alot of southern stones to fish off, monksies artictle in WAFM(i think) last month was a good read. Beward, the rocks down south are granite(i think) and are usually very smooth SLIPPERY rocks, make sure you have adequate safety gear and always go fishing with a mate, never alone.

But off these rocks are pinkies, queenies, sambos, yellow tail kings, black arse, grouper and more.

Yeh.. too right.. those stones are pretty bloody dangerous..

Will be going down to walpole next week to do some stones fishing and some inlet breaming. Will also be trying to get into a secret groper spot but its a 5.5km walk in and then gotta do it back out again.. With fish if you catch any... Problem is you have to pick your days if you want to fish it from the spot and with any swell its just not worth it...

But its meant to be pretty magic.. so i'll take the camera and try and get some photos if it eventuates..

Old Sammy

Makes you sick that some sad git killed Sammy - hope he / she gets caught and is really harshly dealt with by the authorities. What sort of penalty suits a sick unit like whoever did this?

Missus says

She who mistakenly think she wears the pants tells me that on the news it said they may have a lead or something on who knifed Sammi!

Have no more info than that!

Hey - maybe it was the same guy who stabbed that Monika Seles tennis player chick? ;o)

Before they tell us who dunnit tho - heres my thoughts for what it's worth!.

What do you call a person or persons that would do that to any animal.
I know what I'd call em - desperate sicko's!

I dunno bout you guys, but any crime to be proven requires a few things..

Victim (That would be ol Sammy and a few sea eagles!).

Motive (Love, Hate, Fiscal gain, Insanity etc)

&

Opportunity. (No aliby)

Then you look for suspects & evidence to try and convict someone!

To do something like that - what sort of motive might allow one to "rationalise" such action to themselves?

So do we suspect some drug crazed, anti-seal zealot, who heard voices in his head telling him to stab Sammi because he's a minority group religous cult leader (Maybe Sammy likes to wear a towel on his head at the beach!)????

Or do we look maybe at a person or persons, whos Livelihood may in some way be treatened by the presence of "Sammy the seal" ?

I always suggest one "follow the money trail"...(Bit like yesterdays west with Gadaffis son out to lunch with Kim Chance - I mean the lids been blown on AWB corruption and Iraq's banned our wheat as a result - it don't take a genius to realise we'll probably be selling our wheat to Libya!...just follow the money trail!).

So - who stands to benefit, from Sammys demise?
His heirs? (He left a will and had assetts?)

Ok - anyone else?

Maybe the people - who like to catch and SELL fish for a living? (That ol Sammi might have developed a habit of helping himself too occasionally as the mood took him!)

Probably not a tourism operator, because Sammy helped bring MORE tourists AND the local Tourism Operator has shown even on prime time TV someone stalking him on the rivers and a LOT of "unexplained" wildlife dissapearances (Sea Eagles etc that he used to hand feed)!

Is their any "commonality" between Sammy and the sea eagles (i.e are we looking at a "serial killer" here, who has killed before?)

Hmm - let me see - Sea Eagles eat fish - don't they?

So again - fingers automatically start to point at someone who catches and sells fish for a living...who might stand to gain if less wildlife like sammy & his sea eagle mates, eats his profits!

So - we have a fiscal motive...

BUT is there ANYONE else who might ALSO have such a fiscal motive???
(Keep that in the back of your mind!)

Now - who might have had the "opportunity"?

Who might be up early enough in the AM so that no one else in society would see them at their dastardly nefarious activities...

Hmmm - someone who catches fsh for a living and sells them, would probably have had the opportunity coz they are always up pretty early!

Gee - color me dumb - but if I was after the culrprits, I'd take a look at people who fit THAT particular 'profile - those who had opportunity and motive..

Gee I wonder who they could be?

Do we have any potential "evidence"???

Well - the Wildlife Tourism Operator...he DID have a FILM CREW with him when he spotted someone in the bush in a unmarked 4WD following his boat along spying on him with binoculars - didn't he? The Film Crew DID film the actual suspects didn't they?

So - the people investigating this, they HAVE subpeonaed the Film from the TV station to study for clues - maybe put the perps faces on Crimestoppers? Someone MUST know who these bad guys are????

(Trust me - I suspect I know with a reasonable degree of certainty who it is - and you wouldn't believe me even if I told you!!!!)

The brownshirts did I seem to recall threaten to charge the tourism operator under the new wildlfife act with "taking protected wildlife" if he didn't stop feeding the sea eagles by hand on his tours!!!

I protested in an email to the Environment Minister Judy Edwards and said I would testify on his behalf as a former Wildlife officer that I thought CALM was operating outside it's powers under the CALM and Wildlife acts, if they kept persecuting this tour operator and didn't stop trying to take over his business by nefarious means!!

Charges were dropped the next day!

Will - we ever find out whos behind such acts tho as the Sammi Seal Murder?

No way Hosea! (Is my best guess!) - because those who might KNOW, like myself - don't trust those charged with the responsibility to investigate it, (the brownshirts) enough, to share their intel!!!..& why not?.. because they are crooks people! Plain n simple!.

How do I KNOW that? Coz I was one of them once, and I put two of my CALM colleagues in jail for official corruption...and trust me they were just the couple rotten apples at the top of the barrel - theres plenty more where they came from!

We will never get to the bottom of Sammys murder??.

People who catch fish for a living may LOOK to be the only OBVIOUS ones set to benefit from the demise of Sammy and a few sea birds - but they MAY NOT BE, the ONLY group who could benefit directly...if tourism based on Wildlife interaction dropped so badly a few local operators went belly up!

Could the people charged with "investigating Sammi's death" i.e the brownshirts - be the culpirts themselves? Would they stand to benefit fiscally themselves if the local tourism operator went belly up? - i.e could they "take over his operation" and profit from Wildlife Based Tourism interaction activities run by their own department????

Do they have a fiscal need? I.e have their logging royalties / revenues base been slashed in HALF recently by Govt decisions to HALVE native forest logging???

Do they NEED desperately now a new "cash cow" (Tourism) to keep their own jobs????

Are they already involved in Wildlife Interaction Based Tourism, i.e is their already a precedent?

Can anyone say feed the Dolphins at Monkey Mia?

Have the brownshirts already done anything to indicate they intend to take over al tourism activities in the state?

Diod they take over Walpole inlet as a marine park, so they could force the houseboat operators to pay a share of their profits with CALM, for a "license" for the right to continue using the inlet like they have been for years???

You know, back in the MAAFIA days, this was called "standover tactics"....and the crooks at CALM are experts at it!

Thye have already tried once to get the local tour boat operator to go broke - by using the Wildlife act, and failed...but NOW we suddenly have a dead seal, to stuff up the tourism industry...and cut revenues..

Yes - two groups of 'prime' suspects IMHO...and BOTH stand to benefit equally fiscally speaking. Pro Fishers & The Brownshirts - both equally reprehensible groups & both capable of stooping to such a low level act to further their own $ ends IMHO and experience.

Neither have any sense of decency or moral ethics!

I'd suggest (strongly) to you - that if theres no result (charges laid / conviction) by the brownshiirts in a day or so - then the second group (Brownshirts themselves) might well be the culprits!!!!

Just follow the money trail people - tis really that simple!

Sad to have to say it as a former brownshirt myself, - but I've been inside the organisation and survived..and I KNOW the 'mafia' are essentially kindergarten kids in comparison to these guys when it comes to low aaaaacts and being ruthless to further their often nefarious aims!

Cheers!
