Fishing in Warnbro Sound

I've just bought my first boat, and have no real previous fishing experience. I've gone out maybe a handful of times and love it so any hint or tips..... specific to Warnbro Sound would be the best, as thats my local beach.

Warnbro Sound

Launching from Bent St boat ramp and just outside the channel markers is ok for squid over the weed patches in 0.5m to about 8 meters and same from there heading south around old moorings, you can pick a few all the way around to Port Kennedy resort area working the drop-off 4m to 18m. The sound has plenty of sand weed patches and it used to be good for Kg's including the middle of the sound at the Sticks (2 lead markers) but have not been able to find them the last few years and now seams same spots are good for sand whiting and herring in between the wrasse. Warnbro does get a snapper run just before the ban usually and the main spot is the tire reef between the sticks and high car park on the hill or near Port Kennedy resort boat ramp. There is also crabs to be caught when there in, best to start in same area's as previous squid locations. Venturing further to the outer reefs is can produce tailor in the wash (being careful not to end up on the reef). Once you get confident head outside the reefs for better options.
