Flooring options

Chasing a little bit of fishwrecked user experience on Laminated flooring.
We are currently doing a full home reno and onto the floors, but im chasing some feedback on Matte and Semi gloss laminates.
Some reviews you read say semi-gloss scratches and harder to keep clean, but the matte style doesn't show the scratches or dirt as much.
Anyone had any of this experience and could provide some feedback? Would you put gloss down again if you already have it? Or any flooring people here who see it day in day out?
We have 2 dogs and a kid on the way which I guess could cause further damage. Dogs are not overly active inside but do come inside most days.
Cheers
Bodie

I have matte laminate and it's great. My german shepherd goes crazy on it and not a scratch. It can take a pounding too with things being dropped on it too.
I can comment on the gloss tho, but highly recommend the flooring

are you talking about the laminate vinyl that comes on a roll, or the laminate click system style floor boards?

Laminate flooring finished
Hi Bodie,
Gloss shows scratches, dust etc the most.
Matt finish is the best for not showing scratches.
Semi gloss or Satin finishes are a halfway compromise, so you get a reasonable sheen and its pretty easy to keep clean.
