FNQ guided barra fishing charters

Hey guys
can anyone offer some advice please?
the mrs and i are heading to Cairns in Jan 2011 and keen as anything to do some fishing esp if there are barra on the chew (that'd be a good season to catch em wouldn't it?)
some site members (cheers scuttlebutt, bunny) have given good tips and included the mention of Tinaroo dam.
i've heard of it before and am prepared to cough up the coin it would no doubt cost for a guided trip to maximise our chances of scoring.
but not without consulting the fishwrecked crew first...
can anyone suggest a great guide or a better location or any other good tips?
cheers heaps

there's a few who tie up and leave from the Marlin Marina, they tend to just fish Smiths Creek/Trinity Inlet but I've seen them pull some decent barra at times. They are more aimed at the "rock up to the marina and see a charter boat" type crowd. I haven't heard of any guides at Tinaroo but surely there would be one or two. I think Google is going to be your friend here.
Also, there are plenty of tourist info counters along the esplanade if you get stuck.

I think they said he is based in lucinda south of cairns..
Well worth the money they said as he also teaches you the tricks etc.. Some of the others they have been on just trolled you thru the area and gave no guidence as to how to catch them...
