Carnarvon
Bush Bay, about 50km south of Carnarvon is free camping but you have to find a high spot during the spring tides.
The Blowholes, 80km north of town, is $5 a night if I remember.
Both of these spots you will need to be self sufficient.
Further north there is Ningaloo station with about a dozen different camping sites at cheap rates, again you have to be self sufficient and have a chemical dunny. Same goes for the CALM / DEC sites along the coast down from Tantabiddy

Free Camping
Hi
There is an app for Ipad and Iphone - Wikicamps - which shows all / most of the camping in Australia. It is GPS enabled so you can see where you are relative to the campsite and it is filterable so you can filter only free etc. We used it recently and found it fantastic
