Fuel Question

Quick question.  A mates given me 25l of fuel, but he's unsure if he premixed it or not as he can't remember.  He runs the same mix as me so I'm not worried about that.  But is there any way to tell if the fuel's already pre-mixed, or should I just add another mix of oil and run it rich rather than taking the risk that it has none in it at all?

I agree, not worth the risk especially if its old fuel (stale) with oil already mixed as that goes off quicker!

I'd say use it for the lawnmover also but do you guys have lawn up there Tongue out

Add another mix to it.It shouldn't cause too much plug fouling unless you are going to run at low revs for extended periods

If its old stale stuff it

If its old stale stuff it wont matter what you do int he outboard it still seems to run the motor like a bitch.

What is the colour of the fuel Adam? Is there a colour change to non-mixed?

Personally I dont risk that stuff. Its a pain to sort out. I mix it in with a big tank of fuel in the old naturally aspirated car which burns it off and lubes the top end.

Its not worth motor trouble out on the water. It can bugger a perfectly good day.

I added another full load of oil and she seems to be running very rich and smokey, think I will add a little more fuel to thin it down.  But yes, understand that its probably not worth the effort, got about 18 litres left.

Run it through the car. Its the safest bet. The 2 stroke outboard fuel has saved me a walk a few times. haha
