furuno 295 help

I would like help from the furuno 295 guru's i ahve a 295 witha 200khz 2kw transducer and i would like some info on the general rule for setting the tvg
mostly fishing between 30-100 m aand occasionally going deeper at factory the tvg is set to 200m and i think setting 4
can somebody help me understand how to set this setting

Always set your tvg to the depth your fishing
That way you will get the same return signal colours at the bottom / depth your fishing as you would only fishing in 10 m also set your tx power to 10 so it's always on max

what gets me is when i turn it down to say 30 m and back my gain off it still fills the screen with lots of clutter and i have the clutter at 30%
does this seem right?

No doesn't seem right
I only run my clutter at 10 percent and can turn my gain to about 7 before I get any clutter on the screen
