For squid I've found the area out from the old Dunsborough boat ramp to be the most consistent, just drift across the weed there and you're sure to find them.

I'll be in Dunsborough as of Sunday for 11 days and gonna give ema crack too and was told last time to try around the 18m mark which would be the back of the 4 Mile reef but I remember going out with my uncle as a kid and we wouldn't have been in any more than 12m coz you could clearly see the sand holes in the weed. My cuz took us out of Busso Marina last year to a spot where he'd previously caught some 50cm thumpers and it was approx 6 miles. I'll see if I can find the marks for ya but all we caught that day were wrasse and parrotfish and an occy which at least kept the kids ammused.

8m/end of jetty is a good
8m/end of jetty is a good depth off Busso. Brownie, a good tip for the kg spots is to gps mark the sand holes in summer when they are clearly visible. Then when the water is dirty this time of year you can go back and anchor up.
Chook pellets in a burley cage sent to the bottom and you will know if the fish are there quite quickly (10-20 min) or move to your next sand hole.

Hey fellas. I'm down that way next week. Is it worth hiring a tinny to go for squid and KGs. Can't be bothered towing the tub down as it is mainly a family getaway. Also any tips on landbased action or redfin in the area would be really appreciated.
