Mooring

Like any time when mooring in the bay, keep an eye on the weather, any wind from the north blows straight in to the bay and there is no protection so be prepared to pull the boat out early.

We used to dive and shackle our lead chain on to one leg of pro mooring that was there, saved having to lug anchors up

Like John says above, the only other drama you might have with retrieval is the tide. PM johnno67 on here he moors his 7.5m up there very year when I'm there and we usually give him a hand to get it out.

and leave them in the carpark empty.

Peace of mind.

Although if there is no other boat on the pro mooring thats a goer. I think there are still a couple of anchor points - Andy??

June will see some wind from the North.

Northerly wind

Sat, 2022-09-10 14:45

Have seen a couple of boats sitting up in the scrub from where they were too late trying to pull them out.

Ghost crabs by the hundreds and salt water running down the tracks where the fence gate is

We did one 14 day trip where I got in 1 day before the other 2 arrived and mine was the only boat to hit the water, big swell preventing me from pulling it out and the others from launching, plenty of piss drunk that years and 2 can fishing invented

Ha ha yep you need to get inventive when the wind turns it all to shit. I'm the grandmaster chess champ in our crew lol, but shit at darts. Can never really aim straight after a few sherbets.

2 can fishing

Full can in holder in back shorts pocket, open can in top pocket, walk along shore flicking lure. When top pocket can empty stop and swap empty with full one in back pocket, thats how long it will take you to get back to esky, sit down and drink a can talking about fish caught on run, reload pockets and head off in other direction flicking lure as you go. Repeat often!!!

Had a trip to Exmouth ruined by a howling northerly all week. Yes we drank a lot but we also ate like kings as we had the time!
