I have got no idea at all about this but some programs can be meant for Apple computers so they take forever on windows computers. But I am not saying this is the problem because seriously I've got no idea.

I use power director 12 as well - pretty good editor, can do plenty on it and not that hard to use either.

I use adobe premiere pro for editing videos but that's prob a bit advanced (and expensive) for what you're wanting. I'd say stick with windows movie maker..

 Have you tried GoPro

Have you tried GoPro Studio? shop.gopro.com/APAC/softwareandapp/gopro-studio/GoPro-Studio.html

You can set the playback resolutionset the preview resolution according to the speed of your computer.

There's a few templates you can use with the edits set to the music - you just insert your shots.
