Gotta Laugh...

No luck with wet flies... so I switched to a very large dry fly I bought in Alaska four years ago.

One of my better casts.  The large Christmas Beetle pattern* touched down gently in the swirling pool... and disappeared instantly, monstered by...

 

...a tiny salmonid almost the same size as the fly!

 

Released, it swam off strongly in the river current.

* I figure this fly may be deadly below overhanging trees at Drakesbrook Dam... and Harvey.  Never had a dry fly taken on the first cast before!
