Gracetown and Margaret River mouth

Attached are a couple of snaps from my recent holiday... apologies for the quality of the pics, they were taken quickly on an iphone before releasing the fish back into the sea.

Both fish were taken from a couple of well developed gutters, just about a meter from the shoreline!  I was just messing about on the beach, with some light gear and few prawns!  There was plenty of good bread and butter fishing down south, with loads of herring, whiting and bream about.

The whiting, which I believe is a KG, was taken from Gracetown, while the other fish, I've never caught before, was taken from Margaret River mouth.  I am calling it as a buffalo bream?  Was quite surprised to see a KG taken so close to shore, there were plenty of small sand whiting around, so it was a surprise when this fella popped up!

I would have, I love whiting.... but I was staying in a hotel.  Considered taking it back to the room and asking the hotel to freeze it, but decided it wasn't worth it!

The fish had a lucky escape!
