Great Service

Hey Fellow Fishwreckers,

Long time since I posted anything. But today I felt I had to say something.

In the process again of doing up a project. We are building an old Savage 24 into a walkaround centre console. The engine picked to do the work is a 2006 250hp Etec. Picked up from Port Hedland and trucked down here a few months ago. Getting her ready to go on the back of the Big Bitch (affectionately called) and finding parts I have ended up at site sponsors, Chivers Marine.

The service I got from them was second to none. OEM parts were very reasonably priced and advice was very forthcoming. I went away from them with a bit more knowledge, the part I needed and a future aquisition well in my sights.

Thanks boys I will be back soon even though you are on the other side of town.

Cheers!

Service

Pity not everybody gets the same great service.

I guess it's who you get to deal with at the time.

Goin Fushin,

If you didn't get good service from them, go back and try again. Go and have a word with Luke. His advice and knowledge impressed me greatly.

Been in there many times over many many years and dealt with probably everyone in the shop and always found them to be great doesn't matter who it was that served me, very helpful and full of knowledge whether it be chandlery or sales, couldn't possibly have a bad word to say, maybe someone there was having a bad day when you went in mate, we are all human but I guess we don't all know the full circumstances around the situation either...

My Story...

Fri, 2014-08-22 20:38

I went into Chivers about two weeks ago to see about repowering my boat. I spoke to Peter who was a wealth of knowledge and helped me out in every way. A Great guy to deal with.

I also had a look at the sounders while I was there. I spoke to Luke (didn't know he was the owner at the time) who was also a great help and full of information regarding sounders and their options. After much discussion I agreed on a new sounder and price with Luke (much more than I was origionally planning to spend). As it was Friday and my card is limited I said that I would be back on Monday to pick one up. I called Monday to make sure that there was one in stock and spoke to Chris and gave him all the details (price, make, model discussion with Luke).

This is where things went bad. After returning my call an hour later confirming one was in stock and apparently speaking to Luke he said that he would not sell it at the agreed price because, and I qoute "he was not making enough money", not a good choice of words to say to any customer. Chris said he would sell it to me at the same price listed by CH Marine online including delivery. Then why would I bother driving all the way to Chivers?

Sorry Peter, Chris lost that sale for you and servicing in the future. Peter and Luke were of great help. Feel free to call Luke to confirm. He will remember me I was in there for nearly two hours.

As I said it's the person that you deal with that makes all the difference.
