As always the case, things never go as planned. Although conditions last evening did suit, i've been down many other times with optimisim and they just weren't there.
So not expecting much i packed a handful of mullies, and drove down to Cottesloe expecting not much.
As the they often do, they came just after dark and hung around for about half an hour. Lost a few and had one bugger bite through my wire trace about half way up
Happy to catch my first size flathead (by catch). He went 34, the tailor went 31 and 40cm. Sorry for the sink pic, you can understand that i'd rather be fishing than taking photos.
Out of the water and into my stomach in a matter of hours... Tasty!!

nice fish mate. What lb wire were you using? Would have been something a lot bigger than a tailor to bite through wire trace
