Not really
For some reason WA is diffent from the rest of Australia. we are restricted because of the 3.75m ruling. We all carry all the correct safety gear to go off shore.
I am an advance sea kayaking instructor and to show how silly the jetski restriction is, i can legally take a group of yr10 school student alot further than my jetski.

mmmm
As you know Modern Jetskis like the one i use the Yamaha FXHO are built to last if maintained correctly and are very reliable and very seaworthy. I understand there are models that are not suited for fishing and agree that some need to be restricted. The boys in NZ and NSW travel up to 100km to fish. The law makers need to open their eyes and relise that some Jetskis are more than suited to be trolling around the FAD's. Obviously individuals ability and risk assessment and management skills need to be taken into account. I think i need to speak to my friends down at the marine safety and get the law makers to relise jet ski fishing is only going to get bigger...

please
do that the laws need to be reviewed, and they need to get there head out of the sand.... Sure there are people that arent responsible, but that goes for boat owners as well.
