Heating and bending chemically sharpened hooks

DO any of you guys heat and bend chemically sharpened hooks?
Ive just started doing it to heavy duty livebait hooks (hoodlums) to make them octopus style.
They seem strong enough but am worried when they are under load the heating and bending may have made the hooks brittle causing them to snap. Anyone had problems with snapping them?

I have heard of people doing
I have heard of people doing this and i cant say why you need too :0 but if you are id sugest after bending them cool them down in oil so they go hard again. Dont use water as this will make them brittle. But why do you need them bent?

Yeah the big reds are good
Yeah the big reds are good but the 8/0s are just a bit big and Ive had a couple straighten, as well as the 8/0 gamas. Live bait hooks are just a bit smaller and look way stronger, the only problem is that they have straight eyes.
Going for Dhuies, had a couple of double headers destroy my rigs previously so I want to make em bullet proof :)
