Still yet to prove themselves against a top 4 side, and no, a draw isnt proof. Even without Johnson next week, after tonight, the Cats will go rampant at home, theyd be dirty with themselves, and you cant beat a side like the Cats with only 10 goals of your own. But they were struggling to half time in their last game against the winless GWS.... Can you imagine the spray Chris Scott would have given them tonight? Thered be nothing untouched by Scott spit lol. If the Wanchors get up and win next week, well they deserve 2nd spot and may even retain it with their draw. I could live with them in 2nd coz that just means that the gap between the Hawks and the rest of the comp is massive and premiership defining. The Bears were hot tonight in Queensland, but Tassie next week should cool them off.....

at the moment, we have 2 points less than 2nd, and 2 points more than 4th.... i think that means we deserve to be in third spot. a win next week and of course we deserve to be in 2nd spot...
geelong will struggle to kick more than 70 points next week. all we have to do is kick more. its not a complicated game really. stop your opponent from scoring and then score when you have opportunities.
ballaz, walters mayne and the midfield are capable and our defence is the best in the comp. simple.

That's the million dollar question, we are going through a small rebuild but I'm hoping we can kick on through the second half of the year.
BTW, that's when you need to be playing your best footy.
Finishing top four and winning in the first week of the finals is essential IMO. Anything apart from that is almost to hard.
You guys are fit and are playing a very labour intensive game plan. Can you maintain the rage in the finals? I reckon you'll definitely finish top four.

I am hoping top two from here. two home finals to ease the pain of the travel. last year we couldn't travel three weeks in a row, hopefully this year we won't have to. and Melbourne is no longer a scary proposition for us. perhaps the MCG on the last day in September is, and we need to do our apprenticeship??? I hope we get there for the Pav and the champions before him (Parker, McManus, Hazelby and Cooke and others!). But we have learnt this year what life will be like without Pav and Sandy...
And it ain,t scary for us, but it is scary for everyone else!

freo are very reminiscant of Sydney last year. Win the games, but don't do anything too extreme. always look like they could have played better, but didn't. Most of all, flying completely under the radar, respected, but not really noticed. could be a very good year for fremantle....

Great experience for the 5 young blokes in squad with less than 20 games between them .. realistically the dockers with half a team were never going to get up especially with the cats at home where very few teams in the last few years have won .. as much as losing hurts , they'll come back a better side for it .
Another great game by Crowley .. Selwood continually sooking to the umps .. seems as though some our boys cop a bit of booing as well , part of the game me thinks .. and hows Lyons going off when that bloke took a pic of him in the box , not happy Jan .
Bring on next week .. top guns should be back in and the team can start gelling going forward to finals ..

What's your excuse for the 2005/06 GF appearances and the 2006 flag? Freo is good for SFA until they play on the last weekend in September. That's all there is to it.

Simply stating the fact had freo been inaugorated in 1987 as well ... alot of the players that contributed to the eagles 92 and 94 cups would have actually been Freo players .. Worsfold , Matera , Jakavich , Brennan , Wilson , Harding , Waterman etc etc .. so yeah when throwing shit our way keep that in mind regarding those 2 cups .. Good season for the 05 / 06 period for you guys , I'll give em that one .

I just read this post from start to finish and it was a crack up reading all the freo lovers talking up their quality while I knew the result and then the deafening silence after they were shown how far they have to go before they will become a serious team when serious footy needs to be played. Freo can play great footy when it doesn't count but put them in the furnace and it's a different story. When they win a prelim final I will give them the credit they would have earned but until then....as their coach frequently says "we haven't achieved anything"!!
