Help identifying fuel connection

I've got a 1978 Johnson 115Hp which needed a fuel line.

I bought from BCF the Johnson/Evinrude fuel line. The connector secures onto the fuel tank but not onto the outboard.

I've taken a closer look at the connections. The connection on the tank and the outboard are different

I feel fairly foolish but it's my first week working with a boat or outboard.

I've taken a few snaps of the connections if someone can identify the correct connector for me so i can adjust the fuel line with the correct one.

Thanks Guys,

A few hours of searching and scratching my head I went back out and tried to fit the hose again

I noticed the engine connection doesnt fit because there's a metal piece which obstructs it.
So the female plug could fit if it wasnt for that

With this info I checked and found a case on iboats where someone had the same issue
He had to buy the genuine part as the aftermarket wont fit due to the metal obstruction

Guess i'll be popping into Chivers or a Johnson retailer

Cant you just take that one off all together and put a standard Johnson fitting on? Or grind the metal obstruction off all together.

is what will fit your connector, after that they changed a little.

Maybe remove the "OLD" one on the motor and put a late model one on, then you can use pretty much any late model tank or OMC connector.

Had a similar problem when I made up a new fuel line - the new connectors did not fit my fuel tank as part of the plastic (female side) of the connector had an extra mm or two of plastic even though they were the same type and boy is the one on the motor tight to push on (but once on seals well and won't come off in a hurry).  Had issues with the Johnno connectors sucking air so ended up fitting honda (garden hose connector type) fittings and never run better (no air leakage).

Wife went to Chivers today to get a genuine fuel line, who by the way were extremely helpful and friendly, and i'll be testing it when I get home.

If I had further issues i'll do what Squidder suggested and change the motor's intake connection.
