High tides and camping.

Ive got a question.
If your camping over night in tidal areas and you come in on a high and your leaving on a low or the other way around, when you anchor up is there a way of retrieving your boat or not having it stranded?
some one told me to tie a rope to a tree and run a line with a heavy anchor out then drop in in the water.
motor back in then tie the rope to the boat and pull it back out with a pulley system so you can send it out with the tide or bring it back in if the tides in.
what other options are there?
disclaimer there's large lizards in the water so no I'm not swimming.
thanks in advance.

I have used a setup like
I have used a setup like this before with no problems.
I just ran the rope through a bow shackle at the end of the anchor chain.
And secured the pin of the shackle with some wire to just make sure it doesn't undo itself over night.
