Going down to have a crack early saturday morning with the powerbaits. Hopefully there will be a few skippy and herring about.
Not sure what wall to fish yet, may have at the north wall. high tide at 5.15am (ill be there about 6am.) so far the wind is looking low too.
Come say hi if you are about, i shouldnt be too far from a silver statesman with a tackle shack sticker on the back.

by the time i got back that day my missus was back from the hairdresser, so i didnt get the chance to use it. i was probably pushing it trying to get a fish in on her birthday.
hopefully it gets a workout this weekend.

i have had great success the morning after a big blow on the north wall for herring, as long as the wind isnt coming into your face!
the south wall is littered with gardies and the herring seem far and few at the moment ...
try the inside of the harbour for big skippy, although colin h said he had caught some decent skip adjacent to the reef on the south wall as well, plenty of options there mate and good luck!

yeah still undecided which wall to hit up, probably figure that out on the morning.
the wind is looking pretty low so far, so i might try the south wall inside and out.

i reckon on the south wall if you fish on the inside, the wall that branches off to the right if you walk up further would be a good spot to drop some sp's ... just a thought

crowds at hillarys
arent too bad actually, they do get busy on weekday arvos when people finish work though ... if you go early enough on a weekend at about 6am then you can have a solid fish for about 2 hours before anyone really rocks up.
hillarys on a saturday and sunday arvo is a nightmare, not so much fishing although on a nice sunny day there will be heaps of people, finding a carpark there to just chuck a line in is ridiculous LOL.
on ya wicksey best of luck il probably come and fish with you mate if thats cool ..

was using powerbaits on one
was using powerbaits on one rod and half a mulie on the other. Nothing wanted the powerbaits for some reason, everything i caught was on mulie.
i started at the platform, worked my way out to the lighthouse, back to the platform, over to the small gap near the restaurant, the south wall and then back to the small gap.
and still nothing worth keeping.

i got a good tip from staal
yesterday to fish closer to the rock walls, im gonna try do this more often as most of the time i cast out pretty far (30-40m) see if it affects my catch rate on mulies at least up from about 10% at the moment haha.

a few small herring and a
a few small herring and a small tailor. these were all from the disabled platform.
there looks like plenty of overhanging rock inside the south wall, where a few will hide.
i do like the deep water next to the restaurant, im going to try there again this weekend, just not so early.
