Horse Gar
I have been continuing to take out the MAAC Juniors on Sunday morning when conditions allow. I do get a real kick out of taking the kids out for a couple of hours because when I was their age, going boat fishing was a highlight. 3 trips, 11 kids, including some underprivileged ones last week, and everyone has caught a fish of some description.
The kids today were a really good bunch. The wind wasn’t much fun but we could stay in close, however they were keen to move around a bit when things got a bit slow. We did find a spot that fired up (everything returned) except this fine specimen the young fella got.
I haven’t seen a gar this big for quite a while. Everyone was stoked and it topped off what was a really good morning – the boys gave Santa a miss as they didn’t want to come in early.

That's just a well grown standard type of gardie, usually only the storm gardies get to that size.

Bit hard to tell, but I'm thinking a standard gardie, stormy's have a black spot and the bottom part of the tail is longer than the top.
