how did u go fish werent biting today??

just wondering if any one had any luck today. We fished 70-80m out of rocko today and found the fish werent hungry plenty on the sounder and good ground where we had caught duhies and sharks last week but today no big hits. We did manage a pink and red snapper a b arse and a big leather jacket still a good day out but much better with a duhie in the esky. How did everyone else go

we went out from woodys with the idea of staying on the bank, after a few fish we decided to head out to the 40-50mtr.
awesome day weather wise, ended up with 3 dhuys,2 pinkys(under size so were returned) a nice size queeny, 1 of the biggest b/b i have seen in a long while along with the normal shit.(wras,skippy,rock cod,leatheries and 1 ugly fish with a row of spines down its back(that was returned quick smart)
also another bloody albertross that thought he liked my bait, until he got wrap up in my line, boy did he squak like a parrot...stupid bloody birds
had 2 big runs on a floater which ended in nothen and lost something big when a knot failed.my bad!
all in all a good day out considering it was just a fun day to start with on the bank until lunch time.
with the weather the way it was we should of headed out deep first thing?
at one stage we had 4 boats around us, they must of thought we were onto something.......boy did they get ripped of

Sarcasmo and I went behind
Sarcasmo and I went behind GI , got ha-wrassed for a while got about 5 small flatties, 20 odd skippy, decent bag of squid + 3 cuttlefish.
I was looking over the side at my plastic when the skippy were smashing it and out of no where a decent sambo came out , dodged my plastic and destroyed a live skippy we had out. Result = Busted off.

Yeah we found it slow although its been too still lately for the l/b snaps,slack tide no wind..no good.We did manage to find a few squidlys though with tasty results!

we went two rocks was slow going all day ,1 black bum,1 shark, 1 dewy better than staying home so was a good day!now smashing down some cans!

I tried for squid yesterday
I tried for squid yesterday in the sound, but struggled, which is unusual this time of year i thought. Only 2 of them caught.
Moved out to a lump towards rotto on the 5 and burled up. Got busted up twice (using 10lb and floating mulies) suspect pinky's or sambos, did manage a few fish tho which is always good.

We started on the inside of GI
Close to the officers mess, after 15 mins drifting, we had 5+ right next to the boat. We offered 3 jigs at the same time, changed color/jig and they just wouldnt strike. I got sick of looking at them and went back to casting the jig away from the boat, letting it sink, doing the whip action etc and straight away we started catching squid. We kept a small jig near the boat but it only caught one squid. I think we bagged out in 3 drifts and less than an hour of squidding.

Fished behind staggies a caught plenty of skippy. Most over 1kg. Kept enough for a feed before th sambos and kingfish came in. Had a ball for 1/2 hour. Then moved out a couple of K's and top of he day with 2 KG's - both measured 55cm.
