hunger pains
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Wed, 2009-07-01 22:49
When you are out and about weather it be fishing ,out on a drive or at work .When the hunger pains set in where do you go for a feed, do you have a favourite place weather it be a deli , lunch bar or even a restaurant and a favourite food you chow down on. As i know we all get hungry and got to eat so it would be nice to know some good places to eat as these days good food at a reasonable price is hard to find

Not having
caught Jack for ages, will refrain from tauntiing members with photos and stick to the origiinal thread - living south of Busselton you have the choice of any of the excellent roadhouses between here and Perth to indulge your taste buds. Mmmm- nothing like a cold blanched beef sausage, a leathery cold egg in a B&E sanger or the great choices avaliable in crumbed offal. There are a couple of places around Busso for a decent meal, the best in my opinion is Albies - top notch pub food at a reasonable price,Caves House, Ze Arc Of Iris in Margs. But i really miss the variety we had when we lived in East Vic Park - i would kill for a Samsun Pide from the Turkish Kitchen or a Malaysian Chicken curry from the Tenten in Albany Highway.

Food for thought
think when we to get out of the house and have lunch on the run, would be Dominics on Hampton Rd., his veal cutlet roll, salad and chips are yummy, then we usualy head to north mole and sit and eat lunch, watch the water traffic or Bob goes and annoys the fisherman for a yakkie yak or too and of course the topic is fishing. The other place would be the middle petrol station on wanneroo Rd, (when we go to Leeman) I'm not a hamburger person, but they make the best egg & bacon roll or hamberger with the lot (minus salad), something about there hamburers that is so yummy. We never get salad in our sandwiches or hamburgers as where every we go they just pile the bloody carrot on and the carrot just takes over.

Lol Andy
Actually that reminds of a new idea for making home made lures. Those crumbed snags could handle a fair battering (Lol).

Sparrow Indonesian
Sparrow Indonesian restaurant in Northbridge do great food really cheap. They even have a discount if its your first time.
Theres a good vietnamese restaurant down the road as well (but little more expensive).
Sienna's (leederville and mt lawley) do pretty good value pizzas in my opinion. Some of their mains are pretty reasonably priced for what you get (take away is cheaper).
Theres also delicioso in subi which do awesome pizza.
Theres a great turkish kebab shop and a malaysian hawker shop in the shopping center near uwa.
The station street markets also have good stuff (especially the patisserie there....)
Most of the above you can get a good meal for around $20 for two people, so tasty and good value. Theres a few other restaurants I like that arent quite as cheap though :p.
On the whole though, as a food enthusiast, i'm not too impressed with the food in Perth (compared to several other cities i've been too), but there are the odd good things here and there.
Oh, and of course, freshly cooked squid or fish from a day out fishing (or a nice steak).

when in Perth Vic Park has options we just don't have/get down here.
if ya wanna pie then the Myalup Gull servo has the best in Australia. The bakery next door bakes the Aussie Pie and yes it comes in the shape of Australia. He just won the best pie in aussie tilte. Next is the bakery in Denmark.
bypass bunno if your hungry though

Something home made or fresh.
When we head out for an early morning motorcycle ride we always try and find new places to stop for a rest, coffee and something Fresh. That’s the key I believe whether it be Rolls, Pies, Sausage rolls, Pastries if its fresh or home made its the way to go. You can normally pick this by the amount of bikes parked outside a bakery or small store.
GarryIts a little late to head home early

Or blank cheque any Road House
that has heaps of Truckie's parked up, they usually have the best food as well,
and when I enter a take away etc I always look to see if they have something different instead of the same old things ie., sausage rolls, spring rolls, dim sims, cheese sausage, chips, pies etc. I love the satay chicken sticks but when you ask the price some say $3.50, I can eat two so thats $7 then I've got to also think of the old fart, sometimes I've walked out of a road house spent $20 got in the car and old farts said well what have we got I show him and I can't print what he says. Think also its to do with the price what people want or will spend
