I know these are common and no good eating, not really much good for bait either but does anyone know its correct name? My mates got a bet with someone and there is a carton of beer in the line so obviously stakes are high!

There seems to be a pic of these popping up in the Fish ID forum every couple of weeks.AS mentioned above, Western Butterfish (Pentapodus vitta). Ive heard they are actually good eating if you can get decent sized ones. The small ones make awesome livies for pinkies etc.
