Its a tuskfish, which type is hard to tell. Members include Blue bone and Baldchin groper.

Neels

Edit: member of the Choerodon family

see Fishwreckapedia - search Choerodon

Strange colours for brown spotted wrasse

Wed, 2011-08-10 22:34

Been catching alot of brown spotted wrasse (bastards) off Mandurah and haven't seen any colouration like this.

Think everyone knows the temptation to hold a fish when they dont know what it is, just in case they put back a ripper table fish by mistake.

Put what I now believe to be a decent Mangrove Jack back when I was in Exmouth because I just wasnt quite sure, didn't know, bugger it I'll put it back. Couple of guys on the ramp just about kicked me when I showed them the photos.
