Was only a matter of time before the technology rolled into passenger vehicles.
Been around a fair while in mobile plant, not on air bags as such. But always interesting to hear an operators version of events versus actual data captured.

Yep
Yep , can't beat the facts. I could see this being used the other way too. ie- if an insurance claim was being rejected and you did nothing wrong this data could help you .

Hard to tell from the picture
Hard to tell from the picture but the damage alone suggests a higher speed.
Heard plenty of tall tales before. So what - he put it into first instead of third. without also pressing the accelerator down hard and keeping it there this would be very unlikely to cause loss of control (we'll give him the benefit of doubt that he has some driving ability)
Police would have put in the too hard basket given there were no witnesses to refute him.
You'd be surprised what can be found out afterwards it just a matter of knowing where to look.
Cheers

In the rail industry, any
In the rail industry, any incident or failure the Locomotive data recorder gets downloaded straight away. We can get info on what the engine was doing, brake applications, power, speed and on the newer locos camera footage. Very handy tools for troubleshooting or hanging drivers out to dry!!!
