Hi folks, just chasing some info on Kalbarri. I havn't been there for years but as i have a few days off, we decided to pack the car & head up there at the beginning of Sept.
I will be land based with a 4x4 but not nessecarily looking at beach bashing this time with the "boss" lol.
Any hints or advice will be taken with gratitude.
cheers Rob

I caught my PB Tailor in the river mouth. You can fish from chinamans point or if you can work out how to get to the other side it's even better, casting over frustrations reef. Think murchison boat hire can get you over and back for about $10?

Thanx Matt, where we are
Thanx Matt, where we are staying give us the use of a dinghy so that will come in handy to get to the other side.
The last time we were there i got my PB Mulloway from the rocks at the rivermouth. She went 23kgs weighed on a makeshift sling, put her back to grow as we didnt have anywhere to freeze the fillets lol.
Maybe i'll take a selection of metals & lures & throw in some plastics & poppers.
Thanks again.

Good fun there Rob
With a tinnie you can head upstream and fish the rocks not far up on the north (other) side off the river. Had heaps of fun with bream, soapies and jacks. Also chuck a couple of crab pots in, muddies always possible.
As mentioned River mouth, frustrations.
Also worth blasting lures out at Blue hole, and soaking baits at Wittecarra.
On the inside rocks on the other side (sounds very funny) near the river mouth there is a few feisty Jacks hanging around. Not huge but great fun on bream gear, but might be smoked by a few larger models. All in good fun.
The usual whiting on the sandbar near the mouth for a very leasurely sunset fish with beer in hand. Just follow the crowd.
All these are fairly "boss' friendly and most dont need a 4x4. Tangles will point you to a few less user friendly but better spots Im sure, but Im getting to long in the tooth to climb down steep goat tracks etc to fish.
PM Tangles also as he is the local Guru and can show you a few spots maybe.
