My 6 year old has a 6 foot
My 6 year old has a 6 foot rod, it's too big for her. I reckon the 4 foot would have been better.

Just having a look on their site, the 5'6" is 6-10kg .. More of a boat rod maybe???
They do however have a 4'6" 1-3kg for $50.. This might be the way to go??

Depending on how much you
Depending on how much you want to spend but the small rods are pretty good. It's just the reels that come with them are typically poor. Grab a decent $50 reel like a Shimano Sienna and it will be a pretty good outfit. Don't go any longer than 5'6".

That what my thoughts, chuck
That was my thoughts, chuck a sienna on there and it's an outfit that can last a good couple of years - especially 6 year old passing down to her younger sister when she gets a bit bigger.
On the 4'6" do you reckon 1000 sienna or 2500???

Both sizes will work so it
Both sizes will work so it comes down to what you are chasing. The 1000 will catch most things with light line.
You could also grab a 260 or 360 Penn Slammer with 300 yards of braid for a little more. Either option will work.

Tacklerat
I got my 4 year old one of those tacklerat combos and it is complete shit.
the reel lasted one trip before it seized. I pulled it apart and repacked/greased the bearings and it worked agin, but ended up replacing the reel. The rod is fine, actually not bad for casting from the boat while he is learning.
He ended up with a symetre 1000 on the rod and tacklerat reel has been binned...oh, and the line was absolute crap as well, but what do you expect for $50 or whatever it was.

Head into Kmart and buy the Abu Garcia C442 or C444 reel. I bought the C444 5 years ago and it had a small fearing issue last week. Not bad for $35! The reel has been absolutely thrashed in both river and salt fishing.
A fish in the hand is worth 10 in the water!
