Lake Navarino

Hey all.
Taking my 5y old for our first camping trip and thinking about going to Lake Navarino to chase some reddies and trout in our 3m spindrift. I've just realised that there are no boat launching facilities there and have a 2WD Ford Ranger.
Is the ground around the lake good enough so that I can at least reverse the trailer to the water's edge and manually get the dingy (75kg and has wheels) in the water? Would I also be safe leaving the dinghy in the water overnight?
Anyone also got advice on where to camp as well i.e. is the area closest to the resort a bit quieter as the night goes on?
Any advice of areas to hit up for a fish would be great too.
Cheers
JF

Plenty of hard gravelly
Plenty of hard gravelly ground aroud the edge to launch your boat, the easiest area is down at McNeils Marsh region which is to the North of the Caravan Park. I havent camped there for a few years now but you could either stay at the caravan park or at a camping area in the bush at Cosy Corner on the sth side of the dam. Wherever you camp (legally) you wont be right on the waters edge (the dam is only at about 72% capacity) so I wouldnt leave the boat in the water overnight.
You can pretty much catch fish anywhere in the dam but up the back end is often more productive and generally a bit quieter if the ski boats are about.

I used to launch a ton of ski boat there back in the day behind my comodore wagon, launching was ok but a few ocations we had to tie a recovery strap to the trailer and drag it out with the car on a 45 degree angle up the slope as couldnt get traction in the gravel, allways left the boat in the water overnight just removed the key and isolator switch key also.
