They’re a pretty cunning
They’re a pretty cunning fish, I refer to it as them ‘kissing my bait’ when they’re like that. I took my old man recently and he had his 4-8kg outfit with 15lb line and I had my 1-2kg outfit with 6lb line and I caught 6 to his none. Definitely helps when you can feel the exact moment they pick up the bait for just a second. A lot more fun too when they head straight for the reef in 4m of water.

Thanks mate used to fish and drift back from the Centuar marker towards the land, that is when I had a 21ft Northshore, have a 4.88 Quintrex now, and have not been outside yet, waiting for a calm day, I mostly stick to the river and estuary now, mate of mine got monstered by a big bitie out there the other day, still wondering if I should go out in my runabout but the fish are calling me :)
Regards Mal.

He said there was a large shark cruising around the boat, and it came close a few times, put the wind up him, so he started the donk and went in closer.
