Lockhart River QLD

My son has scored some work that will have in Lockhart River. He will need to travel light as he is flying in and can squeeze in a 3 peice rod rated to 7kg ( going to fish 9 kg on it ) and a few lures
Has anyone been there, can you recommend any fishing spots that are not too far out

g'day, we went passed the
g'day, we went passed the turn off to there last week, but I've spoken to people at Archer River in the last day or so who just fished there and they done well on all sorts of reef fish as well as barra and jacks from the river. Don't know ecact spots, but I'd imagine the fish will be everywhere there.

no worries mate, been some reports of some big barra from there too, big females have been quite common.

Hand lines and a cast net.
I was posted to Weipa and traveled around the cape extensively. The indigenous trackers i use to work with just carried a hand line and a cast net to catch small mullet. Out caught me with my lures and fancy rods all the time.
